The Challenge

LGBTQ+ organisations across the UK are doing vital, often invisible work – from helplines to housing, community centres to campaigning. But with volunteer numbers declining and support stretched thin, many of these groups are under-resourced just when they’re needed most.

Pride is a celebration – but how do we connect that celebration to something more lasting? How could we turn visibility and community into real-world impact?

The Solution

We launched Do It: Volunqueer – a bold, joyful campaign celebrating queer volunteering and calling on the public to give back. From mentoring to frontline support, it spotlighted the diverse, expressive, and deeply personal ways LGBTQ+ people already support their community – and invited others to join in.

Told through the faces of eight real volunqueers and spanning OOH, film, and social, the campaign invited people to “Do it with your boss, your neighbour, your community.”

On Pride Day, the message lit up Piccadilly Circus – alongside the logos of dozens of LGBTQ+ organisations who urgently need support.

Because every step forward in queer history has been powered by people who showed up. This campaign gave that spirit a name.
